A Design-Build-Studio aims at combining architectural theory with the practical experience to realize the developed design in a certain context. This hands-on experience is an extraordinary chance for students to use their own hands for building and understanding construction processes and to reflect upon the implementation of their own projects.

 

Our work as designers at Delft University of Technology was extended by cost calculation, planning of construction phases and acquisition of funding. This part is both challenging and enriching. The added value to realize the project means to get involved as project managers, entrepreneurs, coordinators on-site and in the end employer of all workers and stakeholders.
